Privacy Policy

The short version
Fairly only collects what it needs to run your group. We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
- Your name: the first name you choose, shown to the people in your group.
- Your account: an anonymous account id, and if you sign in, your Apple or Google account id and the email address that account shares with us (Apple may give us a private relay address).
- Group content: the group's name and stake, plans, your answers ("I'm in"), check-ins, chat messages, reactions, and whether you are typing or have read the chat.
- Notifications: a push token for your phone, your time zone, and your notification choices.
- Location (only if you allow it): your approximate position is used on your phone to show places near you. To find those places, an area or coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap services (Nominatim and Overpass). We do not store your location on our servers.
- Camera (only if you allow it): used when you check in to a plan.
How we use it
To run the app: show your group its plans and chat, pick who plans next, keep the leaderboard, and send the notifications you've asked for.
Who can see it
People in your group can see your name, your answers, your check-ins and your messages. Nobody outside the group can read them.
Who we share it with
- Google Firebase stores accounts and group data and runs our servers.
- Expo delivers push notifications to your phone.
- Apple and Google handle signing in.
- OpenStreetMap services look up places near an area you choose.
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
Money
This version of Fairly doesn't take payments and doesn't ask for card details.
Your choices
- Turn notifications on or off in the app under Group, Notifications, or in your phone's settings.
- Turn location or camera access off in your phone's settings at any time.
- Delete your account in the app under Group, Delete account. This removes your account and your place in the group. Messages you already sent stay in the group chat. To have them removed too, contact us.
Children
Fairly is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date above.
